Almost there

This whole week I’ve been packing my things to move out of my place. It’s taken a long time for me to finally get to this stage. When I first thought of taking off travelling last year in around December there was the excitement but also a lot of resistance. I got excited when I researched on places I could go and things that I could do.

I got resistance whenever I thought of packing, moving, being on the road, not having familar surroundings, people and the comfort of home.

I could have swayed either way, but I decided to just do it and let the rest work itself out.

Sometimes we have to make that commitment to ourselves. Just say “yes” and figure the rest out. Once you make a commitment/a decision you have a goal/destination. Often we will have resistance and if we don’t make a decision the resistance will probably stop us from doing what we want to do. This applies to almost anything that forces us to get out of our comfort zone.

I guess for me this trip is all about getting out of my comfort zone. While I have travelled a lot over the years this will be the first time I will be doing it for this long and somewhat unplanned. It’s exciting and at the same time is a little scary for me.

I decided that adventure was what I wanted and getting out of my comfort zone is certainly going to give me adventure.
